No Guilt :: Go Quilt #5 ~ Give Away!

I saw this in a fb quilting group and just had to share!  Though the origination of this poem is unknown, it is very clever.

She learned to quilt on Monday.

Her stitches all were very fine.
She forgot to thaw out dinner.
so we went out to dine.

She quilted miniatures on Tuesday.

she says they are a must.
They really were quite lovely.
But she forgot to dust.

On Wednesday it was a sampler.

She says stipling's fun.
What highlights! What Shadows!
But the laundry wasn't done.

Her patches were on Thursday -

Green, yellow, blue and red.
I guess she was really engrossed;
She never made the bed.

It was wall hangings on Friday,

In colors she adores.
It never bothered her at all,
The crumbs on the floors.

I found a maid on Saturday.

My week is now complete.
My wife can quilt the hours away;
The house will still be neat.

Well, it's already Sunday.
I think I'm about to wilt.
I cursed, I raved, I ranted,
The MAID has learned to QUILT!

I thought it was really, really cute... I think the quilter and maid of this poem needs to try some of my No Guilt :: Go Quilt recipes!

Here's a new one to try out.  I have seen the Mississippi Roast video shared on social media lately... here is a paleo version that is just as tasty!

I actually prefer this shredded and served with Swiss cheese on rolls - like an Italian beef or French dip sandwich.

If you missed my previous post about the Sunbonnet Sue blocks, you also missed the opportunity for a give away.  Follow the link by clicking on the highlighted text and leave a comment before July 8th and you will have a chance to win the pattern for the 16" x 20" quilt "Remembering Our Past".

What sort of meals do you plan so that you can have more time quilting?

Leave a comment below and let me know... I'd love to hear from you. :)

I'll be in my studio piecing a Chevron baby quilt...

Piece Out,

Melva

  2. That poem is too true!
I don't have any cooking tips because that's fallen off my list too!
    Cheers
